My deepest condolences to Danny's parents, wife, sisters and all who love him. You are in my thoughts. I am so very sorry to learn of his death. When Louis, who I know is distraught at the loss of his lifelong friend, contacted me last week to let me know that Danny was very ill in hospital I told my nine year old daughter about the two valentines cards I sent when I was nine: one to Louis and one to Danny. To me, he was so joyous, I didn't think he would ever die.
I remember a very kind, funny man. Danny reached out to me in the last few years to pass on news of our old class mates in such a caring way. Or reminding me of his boyish pleasure by posting one word, 'antidisestablishmentarianism'! When I have thought of him over the years, it's mostly with a little chuckle. I think of him as being so very much himself, which I really admire. It is a spirit I will strive to nurture. I will continue to think of him often, and be happy that he lived.
